Sergio Oliveira enjoyed a dream debut on Sunday night, as he scored the winning goal in Roma's 1-0 triumph against Cagliari.
Oliveira converted nervelessly from the penalty spot midway through the first half to ultimately decide the game, mere days after his move to the Giallorossi was confirmed.
“The important thing was to win the game tonight,” he said afterwards.
“We were able to do that and come away with the three points – it’s just a shame we couldn’t have more fans with us here tonight due to the new rules.
"We are pleased with the win though and focused on the next game.”
On taking the crucial penalty, he added: “Lorenzo Pellegrini was the nominated penalty taker tonight but unfortunately he had an issue in the warm-up [and was replaced]. I was the second taker, so I picked up the ball and converted the spot-kick.
“But above all I am pleased for the team because we won the game.”
