The 32-year-old has signed a contract with Roma Women that runs until 30 June 2022.
Thaisa spent the last two seasons playing for Real Madrid (formerly known as CD Tacon), while she has previously also represented AC Milan and the United States-based team now known as Gotham FC.
“I chose Roma because I think it is a club with a great project in place,” Thaisa said.
“Last season the club won the Coppa Italia, just a few years into its development cycle – and I am here to help the side improve even more.”
Thaisa has made over 80 appearances for her country to date.
She follows the likes of Benedetta Glionna, Lucia Di Guglielmo and Valeria Pirone in signing for the Giallorosse this summer.
She will wear the No. 17 shirt for the club.
“Thaisa does not need any introduction, her career speaks for itself,” said Betty Bavagnoli, the club’s Head of Women’s Football.
“We have been following her with interest for a long period now, and we are delighted that she has decided to join the club.
“We know what she brings to the table: experience, character and she will set a great example for the others, especially in terms of her mentality.”
