Alessia Giuliani, an educator and legal-paedagogical official at the institution, accompanied Alice Corelli, Giulia Dragoni, Anna Csiki, Marta Pandini and Valentina Soggiu to the pitch of the correctional facility. There, they were greeted by Nadia Fontana, Director of the Women’s Division, and spent time with a group of inmates who were eager to play some football with them. They then faced each other in a short exhibition match.
It was a fun, light-hearted experience to share a special occasion and continue cultivating their passion for football in their team “Atletico Diritti,” as they finish serving their sentences. The AS Roma players, who have just won the league title, received a lot of affection from the inmates, who displayed banners and messages to thank the Giallorosse for their recent achievement.
The event, which is inspired by the “equality & inclusion” policy of the club’s Sustainability Strategy, was organised to promote well-being and the educational value of sport within the facility, to support a joint effort to reintegrate inmates into society.
