Rensch talks victory over Parma

Devyne, what an incredible game. You won the penalty towards the end. Were you sure that it was a penalty? Tell us what you felt at that moment?

“When the ball went wide, I think Paulo [Dybala] put the cross in. I knew I’d be at the far post and the defender was completely focused on me. I knew that a minor movement would’ve been enough to get away from him. At the last moment, he held me, I got to the ball, but I was unable to take a shot because he was holding me. Then at first the referee whistled a foul against me and I thought, ‘No, that’s impossible.’ Then there was the VAR check and it turned into a penalty. To me it was a clear-cut penalty. It was a crucial win, as well as an insane one.”

Now you have the derby coming up. You are just one point away from qualifying for the Champions League. How much pressure is there around this match? What does it feel like?

“A derby is a derby, regardless of the table or the points at stake. It’s the most important match we’ve got. We must remain focused because we’ve just won a crazy game. Now we need to regain our energy. We have a week to do so. We need to rest, train well and prepare for the derby.”
