Nicola Zalewski (from the penalty spot) and Lamine Tall scored within a two-minute span late in the second half to decide the game - punishing the Rossoneri after they had failed to convert their own penalty with the scoreline still goalless.
The result means Roma remain fourth in the league standings, well in the hunt to qualify for the final playoffs and still mathmatically in with a chance of finishing in the top two and earning a first-round bye.
"This was a team performance," said coach Alberto De Rossi.
"The boys dug in deep for each other, they coped well in some difficult moments and they did a good job of pacing themselves over the course of the 90 minutes - something we usually struggle with.
"But the team understood when things could turn on them quickly and in the end picked up a great win."
