Roma to launch first-ever Valorant tournament called "The Next"


The club will host its first-ever domestic Valorant event on April 1.



The tournament, known as “The Next,” is open to residents in Italy who wish to join as individuals or as a team of up to five players. Registrants will then choose their agent to prepare for the 5v5 competition in Valorant, the popular tactical shooter made by Riot Games.

Roma are also in search of the new generation of Valorant pro players, and for this reason, the top five finishers in the tournament will not only receive special prizes, but the opportunity to be trained by professional Valorant players and represent the Giallorossi in this season’s Circuito Tormenta.

“The Next” will be the first-ever Valorant tournament organized by a Serie A club, is entirely played on PC and is structured as follows:

QUALIFIER: Qualifying stage to find out the eight final teams. The qualifier will be divided into four groups of eight different teams. The top two teams from each group advance to the PLAYOFF stage.

PLAYOFF: The final stage of the tournament which will be broadcast live on the Roma Esports Twitch channel.

Prize Pool:

The winning team will receive the 2020-21 Roma Third Kit, a day of training with Valorant professional players and the possibility to represent Roma in the Circuito Tormenta competition. Prizes are also available for the other finalist teams.
