3x3: Roma players in the World Cup, the next Azzurri coach and Mario Balotelli

Daniel, Sarfraz, and John Solano are put to the test with three international football questions as RomaPress take over this week’s 3x3 column…

The Roma Question: Which Roma player has the best chance of winning the World Cup?

Daniel / @kikoflame4: “I definitely can foresee Alisson going on to lead Brazil to win the World Cup. After a season where he's really awaken as a world-class player for Roma in the league and Champions League, it seems he will now cap off a great year with a stellar performance in Russia.”

Sarfraz / @sassafraz_99: “Alisson has the best chance of winning it. This Brazil side under Tite is insane. They contain some of the best players in the world and Tite has them playing some very good football. I expect them to win it all.”

John / @Solano_56: “The popular answer will be Alisson, but I’ll throw another name out there: Federico Fazio. After falling short against Germany in 2014, Argentina have a chance at redemption and Fazio could be there as the stalwart in defence.”

The Serie A Question: Would you be happy with Roberto Mancini as the Italian national team manager?

@kikoflame4: “No, I don't think Mancini is what Italy needs. Italy needs a manager who will bring an ethos and style of play to the team that can help form an identity for years to come. I think Italy needs to mimic Spain in some regard and find a manager who will develop something for the long-term and sustainable that can be continued even if managers change. Mancini might be a decent manager but I feel his teams have no identity and we may well find ourselves in the exact same situation if things don't turn out well in two years' time.”

@sassafraz_99: “I'm not sure how I feel about Roberto Mancini being the next Italy manager. He might be a good fit for the team, but I have more faith in a different manager. Mancini hasn't been good for a while, so I'd be pretty disappointed. I hope, though, that I'm wrong.”

@Solano_56: “I have never been a fan of Roberto Mancini’s and I don’t think his football would translate well to the Azzurri. While I respect everything he’s managed to accomplish at Inter and Manchester City, I simply don’t think he’s the answer that Italy need.”

The General Football Question: Should Mario Balotelli be back in the Italian national squad?

@kikoflame4: “I would maybe give Balotelli one more shot at the national team, considering his form for Nice this season. Belotti was called up and has had a really difficult season and on pure form, I think Balotelli definitely deserves that spot instead. Under the right manager, whoever it may be, Balotelli could flourish as a central figure. Or, it could just end as it did before.”

@sassafraz_99: “Mario Balotelli should definitely be back in the Italian squad. He is one of the most in-form Italian forwards right now and it's a travesty that he has not been called up. No disrespect to Andrea Belotti and Patrick Cutrone, but he is currently better than them.”

@Solano_56: “Balotelli should unequivocally be in the Azzurri squad. The same group of attackers that failed to score a goal against Sweden are still present. Ciro Immobile is a nice player, as is Belotti, but the pair have been abysmal in the Azzurri shirt. Why not give Balotelli a chance to redeem himself? Given form and ability, Balotelli is currently the very best attacker available for the Azzurri, it’s embarrassing that he hasn’t been called.”
