Here are the words of the Giallorossi midfielder.
Two very important goals tonight.
“Yes, I’m happy. It had been a while since I last scored for Roma and I’m really pleased, especially because of the win. We needed it, and this result will most likely allow us to avoid the knockout round play-offs”.
You are a complete, modern and dynamic midfielder, very good at making late runs into the box. I don’t know if you’ve watched Marco Tardelli play much, but your style also brings to mind a modern midfielder like Claudio Marchisio. Were they role models for you?
“Well, I’ve seen Marchisio a bit more. Tardelli, because of my age, obviously I couldn’t watch him play. I’ve only been playing at senior level for a year, while they had incredible careers behind them, so it’s too early to compare myself to them.”
Yesterday, Gian Piero Gasperini described you as the prototype of a talented young player who can grow through hard work at Roma. He almost urged you not to leave, saying that Rome is the right place to make that final step in quality.
“For me, playing for Roma is a dream. I’m a Roma fan, but at the same time every player wants to play, and when you don’t get much space, you reflect. Now, though, I’m one hundred percent focused on Roma, and until the last day I’m here, I’ll give one hundred percent for this club.”
