Roma Women 1-1 AC Milan: Andressa saves a point

The Giallorosse, looking for a win that would have cemented their aspirations in the race for a top-two finish, found themselves behind early on at Stadio Tre Fontane - as Lindsey Thomas headed home against her former side.

Benedetta Glionna then hit the post twice in the first half, before Andressa finally found the back of the net from distance to level things up.

"I think you could see it was a good display," midfielder Manuela Giugliano said.

"We wanted the three points, but I think it's fair to say we deserved them from the performance we put in. Nevertheless, we focus on what's next - we believe in our quality and we have a lot of big games ahead."

A frantic finish saw both sides go close as they sought a winner that would have vastly improved their chances of a top-two finish - although a draw means there is still everything to play for over the closing phase of the campaign.

"I don't know how many chances there were - so many," coach Alessandro Spugna said.

"We finished with so many opportunities that there is a bit of regret there, but I can't say a bad word about the girls. They played brilliantly.

"It's the latest great effort from them; it's a shame because we could have come away with more - but we will try to keep improving on that aspect."
