Here's what they had to say!
It was pressing versus pressing today. What won it? Your physicality?
“We were first to everything. We dominated the first half and I think Como have rarely had possession so deep in their own half. We kept up the tempo after the break and we were all over them at times. We scored the goal then they got through us a few times but we deserved to win.”
We saw you chatting to Cesc Fabregas at the end of the game...
“There was a clash between me and [Jacobo] Ramon, the sort of thing that can happen on a football pitch. He grabbed me by the throat. When I was 20 I respected the older guys, otherwise I'd get slapped in the tunnel. I told him to take it easy. It's over now anyway. We cleared the air.”
How does this win feel? And what does Gian Piero Gasperini ask of you?
“What we saw out there today is what the boss wants from us. Personally I'm delighted to score but I'm even happier with our team performance.”
That was your third league goal of the season. Are you surprised or is this what you were hoping for?
“I'm happy about it. [Frederic] Massara jokingly asked me how many I scored at Flamengo [four goals] and told me to double the figure. I've come here to do my bit and I hope I can do that.”
