The Azzurri beat England on penalties to lift the trophy - their first since clinching the World Cup in Germany back in 2006.
Three Roma players played their part in the triumph: Leonardo Spinazzola was one of the standout performers of the tournament prior to his injury in the quarter-finals, while Bryan Cristante and Alessandro Florenzi both came on in the final.

Cristante's comment read:
