Leonardo Spinazzola has confirmed he will be at Wembley on Sunday evening to cheer on his Italy teammates as they face England in the final of Euro 2020.
Spinazzola, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury during the Azzurri's quarter-final victory over Belgium, has since undergone surgery - and will now rejoin Roberto Mancini's group for the event's showpiece final.
“On Sunday I will be with the boys, that promise will be kept," Spinazzola told Tg1.
"They made it an incredible evening for me against Spain. We are a great group, they've taken me into their hearts, we're a family ... it's something beautiful."
After the semi-final victory over Spain, Italy players were filmed chanting for Spinazzola - while players including Lorenzo Insigne even presented a 'Spinazzola 4' shirt during the on-pitch celebrations, to underline how much their fallen teammate was still in their thoughts.
"After the game we had a video call and they were singing to me: 'Olè, olè, olè, olè, Spina, Spina'. It was amazing," Spinazzola added.
"The final will be very tough. England are a brilliant team, we are playing at Wembley - their home. But the whistles and boos will only fire us up more.
"I will be there. Even on crutches, I will cheer and urge them on. If we do win, it'll be a bit crazy for me as I will have to somehow get down there to the pitch to celebrate with everyone!"
