Having clinched a spot in the UEFA Europa League next season, the curtain comes down on Roma’s 2019-20 Serie A campaign with a trip to champions Juventus on Saturday.
Here are 10 pre-match facts worth knowing ahead of the fixture, which kicks off at 20:45 CEST.
An historic rivalry
Roma have played only Inter Milan (174) more times than they have Juve (171) in Serie A, with the Giallorossi picking up 169 points from 40 wins and 49 draws over the course of this fixture’s history - a history that dates back to 1930.
A familiar farewell
Roma and Juventus have met twice before on the final day of a Serie A season - in 1958 and 1973 - while Roma have won nine of their last 11 games on the last day, including each of their last four.
Home comforts
Juve’s 2-1 win at the Stadio Olimpico on Matchday 19 ended a run of five home games unbeaten for Roma against the Old Lady, who themselves have won each of the last eight when Roma have come to visit.
Shutting up shop
Roma have kept clean sheets in two of their last four matches against the Bianconeri; as many as they managed across the entirety of their previous 29 meetings.
In great shape
Paulo Fonseca’s side are seven games unbeaten (W6, D1) - their best sequence under the Portuguese coach - and have picked up more points than any other side (19) since that run started with the 2-1 win over Parma on Matchday 31.
Good on their travels
Saturday’s visitors have also won each of their last three on the road and if they were to make it four away wins on the bounce, Roma would end the campaign with more away points (they would move to 36) than home ones (they have 34) for only the second time since three points for a win came into play for the 1994-95 Serie A season.
Sharp shooters
Edin Dzeko (122) and Cristiano Ronaldo (208) make up two of the three players who have attempted the most shots this season, with Ciro Immobile (141) completing the trio.
Another famous Roman landmark
Dzeko moved equal fourth alongside Rodolfo Volk on the club’s all-time top scorer list with his 106th Roma goal against Torino on Wednesday. His 78 Serie A strikes are just one fewer that Volk’s 79, a tally that stations the Roma forefather fifth on the list for most top flight goals in red and yellow.
A famous first
The Roma captain actually scored the first of his 78 Serie A goals against Juventus in August 2015, while his second - and most recent - effort against Juve came in the 2-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico last term.
Promoting diversity
A total of 13 different nationalities - more than any other club - have represented Roma in Serie A this season: Argentinian, Armenian, Bosnian, Brazilian, Croatian, Dutch, English, French, Guinean, Italian, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish.
