Gallery: Andressa and Hegerberg fire us through

The Giallorosse failed to break the deadlock during the 90 minutes in Puglia - despite close calls from Vanessa Bernauer and Lindsey Thomas - but had Andressa Alves to thank for making the difference, as the Brazilian slalomed into the box before finishing expertly with her left-foot with 101 minutes on the clock.

Andrine Hegerberg then did brilliantly to flick home Kaja Erzen's cross and wrap things up, as Roma made their quality show in the closing stages.

"I'm delighted to score again, but it's only possible because the team played so well as a group," Andressa said afterwards.

"I think Pink Bari are a really good side, they made it really tough for us. But the main thing was to win and get through."

Betty Bavagnoli's side were certainly made to work for their victory. The hosts were focused and determined throughout, giving up few clear-cut chances - especially in the first half, where only shots from distance from Andressa and Bernauer really threatened.

In the second half Roma were more threatening, although Thomas could only react in agony when her close-range header flew over the crossbar.

With the arrival of extra-time, however, it was Andressa who finally took centre stage; scoring for the third game in a row to finally break open the contest.

And, with Bari getting increasingly desperate, it was Hegerberg who put the finishing touches to an impressive away triumph.

"We did well to be patient when we had the ball - we made a lot of mistakes, but we kept going and didn't get discouraged," Bavagnoli said.

"We are growing and improving, although I'm a bit disappointed we didn't do better with some of the chances we created."
