On his 42nd birthday, Francesco Totti had Rome's famous Colosseum to use for himself - as he unveiled his eagerly-anticipated autobiography alongside family and friends.
The legendary Giallorossi captain, who made 786 appearances for his boyhood club during a 25-year professional career, joined another classic symbol of city, the Colosseum, to formally present his book, 'Un Capitano', to the world.
The autobiography, co-written with journalist Paolo Condo, takes fans inside the many unforgettable moments that made up Totti's career.
As part of the events, teammates and managers both past and present sat down for discussions with and about Francesco, with the likes of Daniele De Rossi, Eusebio Di Francesco, Claudio Ranieri and Antonio Cassano all sharing anecdotes.
A significant share of proceeds from the book will be donated to Rome's Bambino Gesu children's hospital while, as part of the agreement to host the Colosseum event, publishers Rizzoli will pay to restore 12 statues in the park outside the landmark.
