Roma stars react to Euro 2016 draw

Roma stars react to EURO 2016 draw

Seven Giallorossi players learned their Euro 2016 fate when the draw for next summer's tournament was made in Paris on Saturday evening

Italian internationals Daniele De Rossi and Alessandro Florenzi were pitted against Radja Nainggolan's Belgium in Group E while Germany and Poland were both placed in Group C, meaning that Antonio Rudiger could find himself face to face with Wojciech Szczesny.

Lucas Digne, France, and Norbert Gyomber, Slovakia, are the other Roma players who could feature at the European Championships, which will be held between 10 June and 10 July 2016.

Here's what five of our players had to say after learning what their national sides can expect at France 2016...

Alessandro Florenzi: Italy

"We've been put in a group with one of the tournament favourites, Belgium, who have my mate Radja. Italy are a quality team though and we'll be sure to make life hard for the other teams in our group.”

Radja Nainggolan: Belgium

"It's not an easy group for us because all the teams in it are quality. I think Belgium and Italy will start as favourites and on paper at least I'd say we start off level. Ireland are a side that never let up though and I think they'll cause problems for all their opponents. Sweden have Ibrahimovic who can punish you in an instant with a flash of genius. We have to believe in our own ability because we can give anyone a run for their money. It's a difficult tournament with lots of big games to get through - it doesn't end after the three group matches. The upside of a tough group is that you get the chance to knock out a very good team early on.”

Antonio Rudiger: Germany

"It's not a easy group but we are Germany and our target has to be to win the group. I'm happy to play against Szczesny."

Lucas Digne: France

"There are no easy groups. We saw that first hand when we played Albania in a friendly last summer. They played good football and we found it hard against them. Romania and Switzerland are top-level sides too. It's up to us to make sure we progress from the group and I think we have every chance of going even further.”
