El Shaarawy: Only 7th player to score in first two Roma appearances

El Shaarawy the seventh man to score in first two Roma appearances

Stephan El Shaarawy's last-gasp strike to double Roma's lead at Sassuolo deep into stoppage time saw him become the seventh player in the Giallorossi's history to find the net in his first two competitive games

The Italy international capped his Roma debut with a gorgeous flicked finish against Frosinone before getting on the scoresheet at Mapei Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Pharaoh follows in the footsteps of the following half a dozen Roma men.

Mario Tontodonati - Tontodonati scored on his debut in a 2-1 victory at Bologna on 19 September 1948, before hitting two in the 4-2 home win over Triestina a week later.

Guido Ugolotti – He found the net in the 2-1 home win over Torino on 11 September 1977 and repeated the trick seven days later in a 3-2 loss at Perugia. He even scored in a third straight game, bagging the winner against Foggia in Week 3.

Francesco Vincenzi – He struck a double on his Giallorossi bow in a 3-1 Coppa Italia victory at Rimini on 21 August. Vincenzi then hit the winner in the same competition at Arezzo three days later.

Renato Portaluppi – Portaluppi was in the goals in the 3-1 win at Prato in the Coppa Italia on 21 August 1988. He then found the net in the cup again three days later, with Roma winning 3-2 at Empoli.

Sinisa Mihajlovic – The Serb struck on his first appearance for the club in the Coppa Italia in a 4-1 rout of Taranto on 26 August (the match also featured a debut goal from Silvano Benedetti). He scored again in the following match, a 3-1 victory over the same opposition on 2 September.

Christian Chivu – The Romanian found the net from a free-kick in a 5-0 home win over Brescia on 14 September 2003, then scored another set-piece in the 2-2 draw at Juventus a week later.
