It was Digne’s second goal for Roma, with both strikes coming against Carpi.
“I’ve got another goal against Carpi but the most important thing is that the team won both games,” said Digne after Friday night’s game. “It was a lovely goal tonight but the main thing is the fact we’ve picked up the three points.”
The Frenchman’s splendid long-range effort put Roma ahead on 56 minutes, and although Kevin Lasagna fired Carpi level just five minutes later, the Giallorossi rallied to secure the win.
“We put in a good performance tonight. It was a great second half and that will help us in our upcoming games,” continued Digne.
Digne was full of praise for Roma’s newfound defensive versatility under Luciano Spalletti – and couldn’t resist a word or two on the impending visit of Real Madrid.
“Sometimes we play with a back three, when Alessandro Florenzi bombs on and I come into the centre of defence. We’ve worked really hard on tactics over the last week. Now we need to focus on Real Madrid on Wednesday night.”
