Digne on Roma, Italian football and Totti

Digne on Roma, Italian football and Totti

Lucas Digne was the guest on Monday night's edition of French radio programme the Tony Parker Show

The Giallorossi full-back, who has made 34 appearances and scored two goals for Roma, held an interview with NBA star Tony Parker.

Here's what he had to say.

Roma's form

“We're on fire, we've won eight in a row in the league and we're climbing the table. It's going well."

Serie A.

“It's a very interesting, tactical league. I've learned a lot and they've got a completely different mindset here. We work a lot with video and study defensive shape. It's very positive for my position."

His progress with the Giallorossi.

“I really feel that I've improved from a tactical and defensive perspective. It really is a different mentality here. Everything is well organised. Everyone knows what they have to do. We work on things throughout the week. It's really important for a defender and I'm happy to play in this league."

Rudi Garcia's dismissal.

“It was strange. He's the coach who handed me my first-team debut at Lille and I've got a special relationship with him. These things happen in football. Now we have a new coach who's doing an excellent job with his staff. We have to keep going."

Francesco Totti.

“He's wonderful. It's amazing to play in the same team as him. I had a shirt with his name on the back as a kid. It's magic, I get on really well with him."

End of season targets.

“We have to at least try and finish third. Then, if we're able to close in on second place, why not? The side in second are not too far clear. What matters is keeping our winning run going and trying to finish as high up the table as we can."

Your future.

“I've not made any decisions yet but it's not simply down to me. I'm very settled in Rome and I will give everything for the club as long as I'm here. Then we'll see what happens."

Euro 2016 in France.

“That's one of my targets. I moved to try and secure more playing time with a view to playing in the European championships in France. I'll try and give myself the best chance of making the squad. I've been called up for the last two squads. It's up to me to go on working so the head coach keeps picking me."
