Gallery: Giallorossi players arrive for first day of pre-season

Roma players returned to the city for the first day of pre-season on Thursday, as they underwent medical assessment at a city hospital.

Luciano Spalletti's squad arrived at Villa Stuart in the morning for fitness examinations, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Francesco Totti and Diego Perotti among the first to check in as preparations formally began for the 2016-17 campaign.

The assessments are scheduled to continue on Friday, with the first training session of the new campaign planned for later that afternoon.

Players involved at the European Championship will join up with the squad at a later date.
