Trigoria hosts second Agostino Di Bartolomei memorial tournament

Building on the success of last summer's inaugural edition, this year's tournament - dedicated to the memory of the never-forgotten captain of Roma's second Scudetto - saw the participation of four U13 teams: AS Roma, Scuola Calcio AS Roma, ASD Savio and Cinecittà Bettini.

Rather than being a youth competition, the event aims to offer the youngsters involved a taste of football the way Agostino believed it should be played – with commitment, passion and respect for the opposition.

The matches took place on the pitch named after Agostino Di Bartolomei at the AS Roma training ground.

In the first of the two semi-finals, consisting of two 20-minute halves, Roma beat Cinecittà Bettini 2-0, while in the second ADS Savio overcame Scuola Calcio AS Roma 1-0.

After two halves of 25 minutes, Roma then emerged as 1-0 victors over Savio in the final.

Afterwards all four teams were handed awards by Agostino's wife Marisa Di Bartolomei and Roma official Massimo Tarantino.
