Strootman: Roma fans are unique

Speaking at an event organised by the two biggest Giallorossi fan clubs, the Italian Roma Club Association (AIRC) and the Union of Roma Fans (UTR), Strootman was keen to thank the supporters for the support they showed him during his injury layoff.

“You don’t get the love the Roma fans show you anywhere else, it’s special,” began Strootman. “When I was injured, the fans showed me real support and that gave me the strength I needed to return.

"It was the same with [Leandro] Castan – I’ll never forget how the fans treated me, they supported me so much. I want to thank you for that.”

The fans had brought one of the banners often seen at the Stadio Olimpico, reading simply “Forza Kevin”.

Also attending the event in Pinzolo were Roma boss Luciano Spalletti and new signings Mario Rui and Alisson, who were afforded a warm welcome by the fans.
