The result meant Roma won the 39th edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy in La Coruña, Spain. Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Giallorossi side had beaten Manchester United 2-1 in the semi-finals to set up a showdown with the Brazilian outfit, who were dispatched 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time.

16 March 1986. The Giallorossi fans filled the stadium with the Roma colours as the teams made their way out onto the field, heralding the beginning of a new chapter in fan choreographies. On the pitch, Roma beat Juventus 3-0, Cerezo grabbing the third. It would be his last league goal for Roma.
