The full-back, who underwent surgery on a knee injury in July, continued his rehabilitation by joining Alberto De Rossi's Under-19 squad - along with Nura Abdullahi, who is also returning to full fitness after a similar injury.
Like Antonio Rudiger, who recently made his return to first-team action, Rui will continue to build up his fitness with the youth team, and will likely play in a game with them before being considered for a return to the first-team squad.
