Roma striker and Bosnia & Herzegovina captain Edin Dzeko has expressed his delight at becoming an ambassador for the Youth Sports Games.

Dzeko, who at the weekend became the Giallorossi's record-holder for most goals in a single season, has long been a supporter of the Youth Sports Games, as part of his many humanitarian activities in his homeland.

During the recent international break he once again visited organisers of the Games, where he agreed to become an ambassador for the event.

"I am happy that we have formalised years of friendship in this way, and that I am now Ambassador of the most beautiful sports story in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Dzeko said.

"It is my honour and pleasure to be part of this project and I will always support any project focused on children because they are our future. The Games rule!"

The Youth Sports Games are the biggest free amateur competition for children and young adults in south-east Europe. The games have been held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia over the last 20 years - involving over a million participants.

The Games are organised in association with the International Olympic Committee, FIFA, and Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
