Prevention, solidarity and awareness: The club’s initiatives for 8 March

Prevention

To foster a culture of prevention, AS Roma have set in motion a network of health facilities in the city to give women a series of free services and screenings of various kinds, such as gynaecological examinations, thyroid tests, mammograms, pap-tests and colon screening.

The initiative will be held in collaboration with ASL RM1, ASL RM3C, Poliambulatorio San Raffaele Termini and Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico.

Two Roma women's team players will be present at Campus Bio-Medico Porta Pinciana as testimonials of the initiative.

Fundraising through pink scarves

Our generous Giallorossi fans will be able to offer their support to another initiative designed to help women who suffer abuse. The club has produced a special pink scarf to mark this occasion and the proceeds from sales of the scarf will be used to purchase gynaecology beds and medical privacy dividers for hospitals.

These facilities will be used to support women who are victims of violence and who seek help through health services to access dedicated facilities ensuring maximum privacy and protection.

Pink scarves will be available for purchase from 8 March at the AS Roma Stores on Via del Corso, Piazza Colonna and Via Ottaviano.

When Roma play Real Sociedad on 9 March, pink scarves will also be on sale at the Viale delle Olimpiadi Store and the Toyota Fan Zone sales point.

Raising awareness

In light of the ‘Amami e Basta’ (Just Love Me) initiative, and with the support of Municipality V and the Roma Capitale Department of Security Policies, Productive Activities and Equal Opportunities, a new red bench is set to be installed, symbolising the fight against gender-based violence.
