The Advisory Group was founded in March 2021 as part of the ECA “Be a Changemaker” campaign, with the aim of delving deeper into issues related to physical and athletic performance in women’s football.
Rising numbers of women playing in professional leagues and busier schedules of official matches, combined with increased intensity in the game, means that the world of football must explore a range of topics in relation to sports science and medicine.
Over the two days in Rome, representatives from some big European clubs will participate in six different presentations with the aim of outlining an increasingly sophisticated approach to training, injuries and rehabilitation in the world of professional women’s football.
AS Roma’s Head of Women’s Football Betty Bavagnoli shared how happy she was that the gathering would be held here. “We are extremely proud to be hosting the next ECA High Performance Advisory Group meeting. We know how crucial this kind of international event is in finding new solutions to improve our players’ performance.
“On behalf of everyone here at AS Roma, I’d like to thank ECA for giving us the opportunity to host this important event and make our contribution to the debate.”
