"Yes, after the third goal, definitely. But in the first half, I saw a good Roma—we conceded after just a few seconds and again in the 47th minute. The first half was certainly very good, and going into the break behind was a real blow to our morale. From the third goal onwards, it was a struggle".
The third goal was the one that changed the match. There seems to be a certain fragility when out of possession, not just tonight but in previous games as well. How is Mancini? The team seemed to suffer without him.
"Without a doubt, Mancini is important for us. When we are at full strength, like we were in the first half of the season, we are competitive. Today, we were missing Wesley and Koné, as well as others. Clearly, we lose something, even though everyone gives their all. It was a game with two very different halves—Roma was very much in it in the first half. Then the final result makes everything look different; the game was effectively over after 3–1. Inter is a great team, and they deserve credit too".
How is your Roma doing mentally? How are Koné and Wesley? It seems like a different Roma after Gatti’s goal.
"No, there have been different kinds of games—we have consistently delivered good performances. This is the first time we have really got a half wrong. After the third goal, there was a drop in our morale. Now we have two home games. Losing away to Inter can happen—obviously not in this manner, not with this scoreline—but we will approach the next matches giving everything we have".
How difficult does the race for the Champions League become now?
"It is difficult for us, for Como, for Juve and Atalanta—for everyone. There are still seven games left. We are behind, but we will do everything we can to make up the ground, that’s for sure".
