Abraham aiming to complete 'perfect' year

The Giallorossi will finish no lower than sixth after beating Torino 3-0 in their final league game of the season, with Lorenzo Pellegrini rounding out the scoring after Abraham had scored twice in the first half.

Speaking after the game, the England international expressed his delight at how the campaign has gone.

“I would have loved to get three, to score a hat-trick for my team – but the most important thing is that we won and we finished the season well,” Abraham said.

"It’s been a long hard season and I need to congratulate all my teammates, because we’ve done well. But now we have a final to look forward to and we are all excited."

He added: “Like I have always said, I fell in love with this club from the first day and I am always going to help the club as much as possible with my goals and my assists. It’s been a good year for me.

"I would like to build on this year – hopefully we can finish with a trophy and then this would be the perfect year."

Roma now have just one more match: against Feyenoord in the final of the Europa Conference League next Wednesday evening.

"This is a dream come true, for Rome and Roma fans and the club," he noted.

"We’ve made it to the final, we’re there, now we need to rest and recover well and then hopefully we will be celebrating on Wednesday night.”

"Avrei voluto fare tre gol per la squadra, ma la cosa più importante era vincere. Volevamo chiudere bene questa stagione, che è stata lunga e difficile. Adesso possiamo concentrarci sulla finale".

Questa è la stagione in cui sei migliorato di più?

"Come ho detto, amo questo Club dal primo giorno in cui ci ho messo piede e ho sempre cercato di aiutare la squadra con gol e assist. È stato un anno molto positivo per me, spero che sia un trampolino di lancio per la prossima stagione. Vogliamo chiuderlo nel migliore dei modi con un trofeo".

La testa è già alla finale?

"Naturalmente. Già giocare una finale è un sogno che si realizza. Sarebbe bellissimo vincere, per i tifosi, per il Club. Adesso riposiamo un paio di giorni e speriamo di festeggiare mercoledì".

Ti vedremo ancora in Serie A con la maglia della Roma?

"Io amo questo Club. Questo Club mi ha dato la possibilità di mostrare il mio valore. Il mio cuore è a Roma, con la Roma. Non aggiungo altro".
