Over the weekend, Cristian Volpato and Edoardo Bove became the 44th and 45th players in the history of Roma to score a goal for the club prior to reaching their 20th birthday...

The teenage midfielders join a list that is also graced by some of the finest names in the history of the club: Amedeo Amadei, Giancarlo De Sisti, Agostino Di Bartolomei ... just to name a few.

Volpato, at 18 years and 96 days old, now sits 13th on the list of the club's youngest-ever goalscorers.

Bove, meanwhile, just sneaks in before the 'deadline' at 19 years and 279 days old - beating out a certain Daniele De Rossi in that regard by the sum total of 11 days.

De Rossi, of course, was in the stands on Saturday to see both goals; along with Francesco Totti, another man who features on this list and went on to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

45 to 31: Zaniolo, Bove and De Rossi

Daniele Conti, son of Bruno, is the 'oldest' player on our list of Under-20 goalscorers, having notched his first with just over a month to spare (19 years 330 days) when he found the net in December 1998.

With Bove and De Rossi slightly further down the list, both men are pipped by Nicolo Zaniolo - whose first goal came in December 2018, at 19 years and six months of age.

Elsewhere in this section of the list are Arcadio Venturi, who would go on to become club captain in the 1950s.

Just ahead of him is Paolo Giovannelli - whose first goal, back in 1980, also ended up deciding the derby against Lazio.

    30 to 20: From Rosi to Afena-Gyan

Aleandro Rosi, 19 years 130 days, sits right at the outer edge of the top 30, with Roberto Muzzi and Guido Ugolotti just ahead of him. Ahead of them, all the other goalscorers were 18 at most when they first notched for the club.

Nico Lopez was 18 years and 330 days old when he scored the equaliser in a game against Catania back in August 2012, while Felix Afena-Gyan kicks off the top 20 after his own unforgettable cameo earlier this season to beat Genoa in Liguria.

19 to 11: Among them Calafiori, Di Bartolomei and Volpato

Just outside the top 10 in this particular list sits a host of names that will probably be familiar to many: Casaroli, Spinosi, Calafiori, Bruno Ricci, Di Bartolomei, Milanese, Volpato, Bacci, Fusco.

Di Bartolomei – club captain for the second Scudetto of 1983 - sits 15th in these particular standings. His first goal for the club came in October 1973; he was just 18 years and 182 days old when he found the back of the net in a win over Bologna.

Riccardo Calafiori and Tommaso Milanese surround the historic club captain; both of them having found the net during the 2020-21 Europa League campaign.

Calafiori fired home against Young Boys at the Stadio Olimpico when 18 years and 198 days old (becoming, in the process, the first player born in 2000 or later to score for the club). Milanese was nearly 70 days younger when he found the net later in the season against CSKA Sofia.

Ahead of him, as mentioned above, sits Volpato - after his first goal sparked Saturday's comeback against Hellas Verona.

The Top 10: Among them De Sisti, Totti and Amadei

In 10th place there is Filippo Tasso, another to score his first goal for the club in European competition. Tasso scored in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup against Hannover in November 1958, when he was just 18 years and 75 days old.

Giancarlo De Sisti – seventh in the standings – is the first 17-year-old on the list, scoring his first for the club just five days before that particular landmark. 'Picchio', as he would come to be known, scored his first for the club in March 1961 against Bologna.

One place above him is none another than Francesco Totti, who was 17 years and 342 days old when he scored that famous first goal against Foggia in September 1994.

    The Top Five

In fifth spot is Filippo Scardina: 17 years and 293 days old. He scored on his debut for the club, in a 3-0 win against CSKA Sofia in the Europa League in 2009.

The top three, meanwhile, is comprised of two 16-year-olds - Alberto Di Chiara (16 y 354 days) and Stefano Okaka (16 y 121 days).

The top spot, however, goes to the legendary Amedeo Amadei.

The striker was just 15 years and 287 days old when he scored his first goal for the club, against Lucchese in May 1937. He remains to date the only 15-year-old to have scored in the club's long and illustrious history.

Amadei would go on to score 234 goals in total for the club, including many of the strikes that helped the club to its first ever Italian title in 1942.
