Defeat to Bologna last time out ended Roma’s run of three straight victories in all competitions, all of which also came with clean sheets - at least until that 1-0 loss.
They do, however, remain unbeaten in three at the Stadio Olimpico (W2, D1) and victory over Inter could move them to within three points of Atalanta in fourth and six of their visitors in third.
Inter, meanwhile, haven’t lost in their last 10 matches (W8, D2) and have won each of their last three by a 2-0 scoreline.
Their latest saw them ease past Spezia on Wednesday thanks to goals from Roberto Gagliardini and Martinez, despite having to field a largely makeshift back-three due to injuries.

DANGER MAN
Lautaro Martinez
The Argentine has scored in each of his last three Serie A appearances and tops the clubs scoring charts with eight in the league thus far.
With two further assists to his name, Martinez has been involved in 10 of Inter’s 36 top flight games and he brings with him a serious threat.
Quick, skilful and lethal in front of goal, the 24-year-old is a near complete forward and he has two ideal - if very different - foils in Angel Correa and Edin Dzeko.
He has, however, never scored against the Giallorossi in six previous attempts.
This fixture has produced the most goals in Serie A history (511), which is at least 38 more than any other.
Roma have lost only one of their last 12 Serie A matches against Inter at the Olimpico (W5, D6), and each of the last three have ended in 2-2 draws.
No team has kept more home clean sheets in Italy’s top division than Roma in 2021 (10), with the Giallorossi shutting out their visitors in four of their last five matches.
If Inter score for an 18th away game in a row in Serie A, it would be a new club record.

WHAT THEY SAID
“Tomorrow is an important match, the most important of this cycle of matches. We play against a strong team, we need to approach this game carefully. It will be a pleasure to meet the coach who won the treble. I know it will be a special match for him, we have to be careful because we know his abilities.”
