On Friday the Italy international winger joined students at I.C. Rita Levi Montalcini school in Rome to chat to them about the importance of fair play, respect, fighting racism in all instances and, in addition, offering some advice on the value of a healthy diet.
A total of 43 students joined the event.
"As players we are always at the forefront in the battle against any examples of racism," El Shaarawy told them.
"There's no space for discrimination inside a dressing room, just like there isn't in society. In every squad there are players from all over the world, but we are a family and the teammates we go out on the pitch with every day are our brothers.
"That's why I want to advise all of you to make sure your classrooms and your schools are just like a football team's changing room."
