    International: Nine Roma Women players in Italy squad


    A staggering nine Roma Women players have been named in Italy's squad for the forthcoming 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Croatia.

    The two matches take place on the 17th and 21st of September.

    A third of the players called up by coach Milena Bertolini come from the Giallorosse, with only Juventus (10) having more representatives.

    The Roma players involved are: Rachele Baldi (goalkeeper), Elisa Bartoli, Lucia Di Guglielmo, Elena Linari, Angelica Soffia (all defenders), Manuela Giugliano (midfielder), Benedetta Glionna, Valeria Pirone and Annamaria Serturini (all forwards).

    The games are the opening two fixtures of qualfication for the forthcoming World Cup, which takes place in Australia and New Zealand in two years' time.

    Italy are in Group G of qualification, with Switzerland, Romania and Lithuania the other sides in the group.
