The French forward, who joined the club in the summer of 2019, was the top non-Italian goalscorer in Serie A in her first season at the club - and helped Betty Bavagnoli's group win their first trophy, the Coppa Italia, earlier this year.
Announcing her departure on Instagram, Thomas wrote a heartfelt message.
Roma, it's never easy to say goodbye to a city like you, a club like yours and fans like theirs.
I have felt like I was at home.
I arrived with eyes open in 2019, with an enthusiasm to try this new adventure.
Today I leave, with my head held high, proud to have done my part to help this great team, this great club. To have helped the team win their first-ever trophy.
Over these last two years I have meet incredible, amazing people. Inside me I will carry the influence of all of you with me.
I want to thank the club for giving me this opportunity, all my teammates, the staff that helped us achieve the amazing things we did, the coach that helped me so much and helped me improve so much - and two special people who, without them, things could perhaps have been so different.
It is never easy to say goodbye to Rome - you are a unique, magical city. You've left a major mark on me, a mark that has surely changed me as a person. I thank you for everything you have done for me. For me it is just a 'See you later' - it's not a goodbye forever.
But the time has come for me to try a new challenge, to face new difficulties and to discover other things.
I wish you all an amazing season, I want to wish the best of luck to Roma Women, to the club, that you achieve all your targets.
We will surely see each other again out there on the pitch.
