International: Five Roma players help Italy to win over Netherlands

The Azzurre grabbed a 1-0 victory against one of the traditional powerhouses of women's European football, thanks to Cristina Girelli's early goal.

A total of five of Roma's Coppa Italia-winning side were involved for Milena Bertolini's side, steering the team towards victory.

Giallorosse players Elisa Bartoli, Elena Linari, Angelica Soffia and Manuela Giugliano all started the contest - while Annamaria Serturini was an early arrival in the second half.

"It's a prestigious victory for us," Bertolini said afterwards.

"It was important for us to be able to measure ourselves against a really strong national team, because these are the sort of games that allow you to learn and improve."
