Venom: We are ready for the playoffs

"I've been in this competitive world for about13 years," Venom told Il Romanista.

"I have a lot of experience: I've won two PES titles in Italy, and another in Germany the same year I finished runner-up in the European PES championship. That year, I also participated in the World Finals of the PES World Championship."

Emiliano then went into great detail explaining the origins of his nickname: "Venom is my favorite Marvel character, but I also chose the name because he looks a bit like me. I may appear gruff, big and bad, but trust me, I'm good! Then the 'S' has represented many meanings over the years, but the most sentimental and normal is the meaning linked to my surname, Spinelli."

On Roma's commitment to esports, Spinelli added: "We have total support from the club - we are not looked at as just esports athletes, but we are fully integrated into the club and its activities.

"The club is very serious about esports as a whole and they are committed to growing the esports sector of the club, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

On the upcoming eSerie A Playoff matches, Venom explained: "We are ready, energised and aware that we are the club with the most eyes on us. Everyone wants to beat us after the way we went through the group stages, and that's one more motivation to do well and dominate, just like we did in the group matches."

Venom then went on to reveal tomorrow's designated Roma player for the eSerie A Playoffs: "We chose to go with Kepa because he is in the best form out of all of us. He showed immense quality in the group stage and we just couldn't keep him on the bench.

"I'll be there next to him to motivate him and give him some pointers, just because I know Italian opponents better. He just has to think about how to beat them!"
