Flavio Cobolli, 18, won the Boys' Doubles title at the French Open at Roland Garros - and celebrated by brandishing a Roma scarf to the sky.
Cobolli is actually a former Roma youth player, having represented the club for about five years prior to his teenage years - before deciding to focus his attention on his burgeoning tennis career.
On Saturday, he and his playing partner Dominic Stricker beat Bruno Oliveira and Natan Rodrigues 6-2 6-4 to clinch the victory in the grand slam tournament.
Afterwards, Cobolli's celebratory photo went viral among Roma fans.
"It was instinctive," Cobolli told Il Romanista.
"Then it went viral on social. I always take the Roma scarf with me everywhere."
Cobolli's link to the club is as both a fan and a former playing prospect.
"I played for five years, up until I was 13-and-a-half," he said. "Then I had to make a choice between the two sports."
Among those he played alongside was Riccardo Calafiori, now a member of the first team squad: "I spoke to him the day after he made his debut against Juventus, and gave him my sincere congratulations.
"He deserves it - he's a great guy, genuine and he's stayed humble despite now being with the first team."
Cobolli has moved on, making the sacrifices required to try and make it as a top tennis player - but his passion for the Giallorossi remains.
"My dad was a season ticket holder for 25 years and I went there for the first time when I was two; some of my first photos are on the steps of the Curva Sud," he said.
"I had a season ticket too. The Curva Sud is what my dad misses most about Roma; for me it's the stadium and not being able to join in with all the chants."
Congratulations Flavio!
