In stats: 10 notable numbers as Roma hit SPAL for six

A 6-1 win at SPAL on Wednesday night makes it five games unbeaten for Roma, who now move two points clear of AC Milan in fifth place

A 6-1 win at SPAL on Wednesday night made it five games unbeaten for Roma, who have now moved two points clear of AC Milan in fifth place.

Here are some notable numbers from the Giallorossi's biggest win of the season so far...

1

Carles Perez’s thumping effort was his first Serie A goal and second for Roma, having bagged the only goal of the game in the 1-0 first leg win over Gent in the UEFA Europa League last-32 in February. Meanwhile, Bruno Peres was also on the scoresheet for the first - and later, second - time since returning to Roma in January, doubling his tally to four for the club across both spells.

2, 3, 4

Nikola Kalinic has scored in each of his previous two Serie A matches for the first time since March 2017. Roma have won all three matches in which the Croatian striker has found the back of the net in the league and his opener at SPAL was his fourth Serie A goal of the campaign.

5

Roma are now five matches unbeaten in the league, winning four times and drawing once in that sequence.

6

Six Roma players to score in the league this season - Justin Kluivert, Gianluca Mancini, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Carles Perez, Cengiz Under, Nicolo Zaniolo - have all been born post-1996, the most of this youthful age bracket in Serie A.

10

This was the 10th time that Roma have scored six goals in a single Serie A match and is the club’s 14th highest margin of victory in the top flight. Their biggest win remains the 9-0 trouncing of US Cremonese back in 1929, the first year that Serie A took on its existing round-robin league format.

15

Roma have scored 15 goals during their current five-game unbeaten streak; an average of 3 goals per game. They’ve conceded five times at the other end, at an average of a goal a game.

Aleksandar Kolarov’s 15 goals in the last two Serie A seasons are more than any other defender in the league during that period. Only Henrikh Mkhitaryan (9) and Edin Dzeko (15) have scored more Serie A goals for Roma in 2019-20 than Kolarov’s seven.

17

Perez and Peres, respectively, became Roma’s 16th and 17th different Serie A goalscorers this season. Only Inter (18) have spread their goals out more evenly between players.

35

Peres’ strike to make it 4-1 was his first Serie A goal in 35 Serie A games. His last effort came in March 2017 for Roma in the 3-0 win over Palermo. His double against SPAL is his first brace in the competition.

50

Second half substitutes Nicolo Zaniolo and Justin Kluivert both made their 50th Serie A appearances of their burgeoning careers.

85

You have to go back to 1935 - 85 years ago - for the last time AS Roma scored six goals away from home in Serie A.
