Paulo Fonseca followed the blueprint of Thursday's game against Tor Sapienza, giving 22 player sustained match action to build fitness, confidence and cohesion.
Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for the Giallorossi, while Aleksandar Kolarov thumped home a brilliant free-kick.
On the stroke of half-time Davide Lorusso grabbed a goal against the run of play for Trastevere - although there was still time for Bryan Cristante to thump home a low drive to make it 6-1 at the break.
With fresh faces out for the second half, Christian D'Urso, Patrik Schick, Diego Perotti and Gregoire Defrel all got on the scoresheet.
“So far we’ve had a good pre-season," Perotti said afterwards.
"We are all improving a lot and these games are useful for us, to put into practice some of the ideas the coach is trying to teach it us.
“We hope that this pre-season will prepare us well for a long season. Naturally it will take us a little bit of time to work on new methods and new ideas.”
