Gallery: Women score five against Chievo!

The Giallorosse, back in action after Wednesday's draw with Fiorentina in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, showed few ill effects of those exertions - as Maria Zecca scored inside the first minute to set the side on their way.

Annamaria Serturini then added a brace - the second of them a goal of the season contender - before half-time to effectively wrap up the contest.

Substitute Martina Piemonte and midfielder Flaminia Simonetti then added further goals late in the second half.

Nella ripresa arrivano nel finale le altre due marcature giallorosse: all’84’ Martina Piemonte mette in rete un cross della onnipresente Serturini e in chiusura al 93’ è Flaminia Simonetti a mettere il sigillo finale al pokerissimo romanista.

"I'm delighted with the goal," Zecca said afterwards. "Giada [Greggi] gave me a brilliant assist, I have to thank here.

"It was a tough game, but we played with the right intensity. We're still fighting for third spot, we know we have to keep pushing on."

The Giallorosse face Atalanta Mozzanica next weekend.

"I think today the girls added another piece to the puzzle today, they showed they can really work together as a team," Bavagnoli added.

"I saw us find our rhythm again, after losing it a bit with all the injuries.

"I really believe in the importance of a strong group, and today showed some of that - as we saw a few girls who have played fewer minutes so far this season really do well."
