In an even, hard-fought contest, winger Ludovico D'Orazio scored midway through the second half to ultimately decide the game in the favour of Alberto De Rossi's men.
“It was a really good win, the boys had to sacrifice for each other a lot out there,” De Rossi said.
“It was a very different game to the one against Milan [which Roma won 7-1], and especially the defeat to Sassuolo on the opening day. We are pleased with that, it’s an important moment for us as we look to improve our performances and improve in the league.”
The Under-19s had to get to grips with a physical approach from their opponents, with goalkeeper Matteo Cardinali also making a handful of important saves.
“It sends out a message,” said D’Orazio. “We weren’t great against Sassuolo, but we showed against Milan how good we can be – and then today we underlined that with a strong team performance."
