FC Portland join Roma's USA academy programme

Roma launched its American academy programme in January 2015, partnering with elite teams across the United States, and today’s announcement means the club now partners with 12 different academies as part of an initiative to find and develop the best young players in America.

“We are thrilled to welcome FC Portland to the AS Roma family,” said club president Jim Pallotta. “We’re extremely proud of our USA Academy programme that continues to distinguish itself from what other professional clubs are doing in America. It is a special nationwide partnership network that delivers real value to each of our clubs.”

Through this relationship, our coaches will gain insight into best practices gained through decades of top-level development experience, and that’s information and expertise that will be passed directly on to our players. We have added another level to what’s possible through FC Portland.”
