Betty Bavagnoli’s 22-women squad were introduced to fans, interested spectators and assembled dignatories at the event at Piazza di Spagna.
The squad, which features internationals from Italy, Switzerland, Iceland and Jamaica among others, will compete in Serie A this season.
At the unveiling the team were supported by members of the club’s male side – including captain Daniele De Rossi, vice-captain Alessandro Florenzi and summer signing Javier Pastore.
“Thank you for this amazing welcome, at a truly special location,” Bavagnoli said. “It is a great honour for me to coach this team. I cannot say how we will do this season, but we certainly want to have a big impact on Serie A.”
Team captain Elisa Bartoli added: “It is a dream to captain this club, the club of my heart. We want to achieve something great and bring great joy to Rome, the greatest city in the world.”
The Giallorosse will play their home games at Stadio Tre Fontane.
They are next in action on Sunday afternoon, as they host fellow Serie A side Florentia in the inaugural Trofeo Luisa Petrucci.
“The ladies are part of the Roma family now, and we will support them with just the same energy and attention – and I hope the fans will too,” managing director Mauro Baldissoni said.
“Congratulations and best of luck to the coach, the captain and all the players.”
