It will be the third time the Giallorossi have been involved in a game refereed by Cakir. Both of the previous matches came during the 2014-15 season and ended in defeats for Roma, away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages and then at home against Fiorentina in the Europe League round-of-16 second leg.
In total, Cakir has presided over matches involving Italian sides on 13 occasions for a record of four wins, one draw and eight defeats.
From a Barcelona perspective, the Roma match will be the fifth time the Catalan side’s path has crossed with the Turkish official. Barcelona have two draws and two wins under Cakir, the most recent of these their 3-1 victory over Juventus in the 2014-15 Champions League final.
Assisting Cakir at the Camp Nou on Tuesday will be Bahattin Duran and Tarik Ongun, while the additional assistants will be Huseyin Gocek and Baris Simsek. Mustafa Eyisoy will be the fourth official.
