Roma made it eight consecutive Serie A wins with a hard-fought victory away to Udinese on Sunday.
Here’s 10 stats from the 2-1 win…
1. There were 25 shots in total during the game – with Roma enjoying 15 of them.
2. Seven of Roma’s shots were on target, 11 were from inside the box and five of them were blocked. Against Udinese, the Giallorossi registered a 70% shot accuracy.
3. Despite being the away side, Luciano Spalletti’s side enjoyed the lion’s share of the possession – 60.8% in total.
4. Before the match, Alessandro Florenzi claimed Roma would use their anger from this week’s Champions League exit to their advantage when they played Udinese and it seems like the players were determined to be first to everything - the visitors won 61.5% of all aerial battles and 52.3% of all duels.
5. Roma enjoyed twice as many corners as Udinese – six in total.
6. Of the 926 passes made during the game, Roma registered 571 of them – with a passing accuracy rate of 85.8% overall and 80.3% accuracy for passes made in the Udinese half.
7. Both teams were punished for the same number of fouls - 16 – with Roma collecting three yellow cards (Nainggolan, Keita and Dzeko) compared to Udinese’s two.
8. Edin Dzeko created two chances, had three shots blocked, had two shots on target and scored one goal. It was his fourth goal in his last five Serie A apperances.
9. Florenzi had one shot and scored one goal - his sixth of the campaign so far. He has now equaled his personal best in a single season from 2013-14.
10. Miralem Pjanic was only on the pitch for 20 minutes but he still managed to create the assist for Florenzi’s goal – his 10th assist in Serie A this season. The Bosnian is now the only player to have delivered 10+ assists in both the last two Serie A seasons.
