Leandro Paredes has been named in Argentina's provisional 35-man list for the 2016 Olympic Games, to be held in Brazil this summer.
Head coach Gerardo Martino announced his squad via the national team's Twitter account.
The Roma midfielder made 33 appearances and scored two goals last season while on loan at Empoli.
Paredes was a member of Argentina's Sudamericano Under-17 squad in 2011, playing six games and scoring two goals.
The Men's Football Tournament at the 2016 Rio Olympics will run from 4 to 20 August. Argentina are in Group D with Honduras, Algeria and Portugal.
