Daniele De Rossi took part in a fun quiz show on the Italian FA's YouTube channel on Sunday, responding to questions about Roma team-mates Stephan El Shaarawy, Francesco Totti and Alessandro Florenzi among others.
The 32-year-old midfielder was quizzed about ELS's hair and where Florenzi is from before mentioning Totti in response to a question about Italy coach Antonio Conte's time in an Azzurri shirt.
Asked in which Euros tournament Conte scored an overhead kick, De Rossi correctly guessed 2000, adding that it was the year when Totti was in especially fine form, recalling his chipped penalty against Edwin van der Saar in the semi-final against the Netherlands.
Here are the three Q&As in which De Rossi speaks about his Roma team-mates.
How long does it take El Shaarawy to do his hair?
"This is actually a sore point because I'm always having a dig at him over his obsession with his hair and the fact that he's always checking it in the mirror. He even used to avoid heading the ball because of it. He shut me up this year by helping us win the derby with a header and I promised him I'd stop going on about it after that. So getting back to the question of how long he takes, I'd say about 10 minutes. Too much anyway!”
Which Rome suburb is Florenzi originally from?
“Alessandro comes from Vitinia, near Acilia – not far from Ostia, where I'm from.”
In which European Championship did Italy coach Antonio Conte score an overhead kick against Turkey?
“That was the Euros when Totti was superb and scored that famous Panenka penalty – the 2000 edition in Belgium and Netherlands. It can't have been 1996 because Totti was too young. So yeah, I'm sure it was 2000!”
