The wall Nils Liedholm requested for his players to knock the ball against still dominates the ground, while his legendary quote resonates from the murals: "If we have the ball, the opposition can't score."
AS Roma have reopened the Stadio Tre Fontane, a location which, for generations of Giallorossi supporters, was where 'the Baron' Liedholm laid the foundations for the club's second Scudetto.
Thanks to the refurbishment project which began in 2014 courtesy of Ugo Pambianchi's ATI, the Tre Fontane will once again be adorned in red and yellow on Wednesday 23 November.
After the Under-15 Giovanissimi Nazionali side played in a friendly on Sunday, Alberto De Rossi's Primavera will play the first competitive game on the pitch in EUR, as they face Cork City in the UEFA Youth League (kick-off 15:00 CET).
The two stands (which hold approximately 1,500 people in each) are ready to once again welcome Roma fans, with the Primavera set to hold of their competitive matches - along with some training sessions - on the brand-new grass pitch. The revamping of the Tre Fontane - Esedra Destra area, led by architect Flavio Vasoli, will give the city back a multi-functional sports ground which can also play host to key community activities and events.
The facility will soon be completed but for now it is equipped with all the areas and dressing rooms required to host sporting events.
The Stadio Tre Fontane was built in 1960 for the 17th Olympic Games. The refurbishment project was launched by the Temporary Association of Businesses, which is made up of Profit N.G., the Dabliu sports club, Nuova Rugby Roma and All Volley.
Once complete, the ground will be able to host a series of sports and will be the venue for Dabliu Soccer Academy's main youth-team matches, after the club became affiliated with the AS Roma player development set-up earlier this year.
