New York Roma fans raise funds for Amatrice victims

RCNY

Roma Club New York held an event to support the Italian earthquake victims of Amatrice last Friday

The 'United for the Italian Earthquake Victims' event was held at the Football Factory, at Legends, in New York on 30 September - with over 50 fans from a number of Italian clubs in attendance and showing support.

Along with Roma Club New York, members from the city's Juventus, Milan, Bologna, Napoli, Fiorentina, and Sampdoria fan clubs all combined for the night.

Primarily organised by Eric Buckmeyer and Luca Martano of Roma Club NY, the fundraiser featured a live DJ, donation box, and raffle – in which the winner won a Legends gift card.

A Bucatini all’Amatriciana, the famous dish of the area worst hit by the earthquake, was featured on the restaurant menu at a special price, with 20% of all proceeds from the purchased meal donated to the relief fund.

The organisation was able to raise $530 in just donations and the raffle, with further sums raised through the food orders and subsequent donations.

It is still possible to donate to the Football Cares relief efforts here.
