Francesco Totti received a New Year's gift from an unlikely source this year - as Diego Maradona sent him a batch of roses along with his sincere wishes for 2017.
The Giallorossi captain shared the gift, and its attached message, on his social media accounts on Monday.
"Best wishes and a happy New Year to you and the entire Totti family," Maradona wrote, before signing off the card: "With much love and respect."
The gift continues the mutual respect between the two men, after Totti and Maradona both played in a charity match at the Stadio Olimpico at the end of 2016.
A long-time admirer of the Argentine World Cup winner, Totti subsequently sent him a special, signed shirt as a Christmas present - something Maradona delightedly shared with the world.
